Surely a rich man like Lord Graybridge could afford better fixtures than this. A quick jump and he was inside. Gliding up the stairs like a silent, ethereal shadow he swivelled suddenly at the sound of a loud laughter. Drunken revellers leaving the pub, no doubt. Within seconds he was down the hallway and confronted by a heavy wooden door. The door opened without a sound and a beam of moonlight flashed across his green speckled face. It was only for an instant as he ghosted across the bedroom towards the jewelry box that rested on the dresser. The sounds of sleeping breaths drowned out the simple click that indicated to him that the lock was broken. Slowly he opened the lid and gazed upon the fine contents that lay on the soft velvet cushion. A wry smile crossed his face, he turned to the sleeping forms nearby and chuckled 'The lord giveth and the lord taketh away'. A whispered sentence, a hushed dialogue, told of the second rise of the dreaded Shi-Pang ninjas. Kunichiwa settled back into his throne and stared off into the distance. Suddenly he beckoned to his faithful advisor Portaku. "Come here, I know what has to be done," he muttered. Portaku quickly shuffled across the room and kow-towed to his liege. "Yes, my Emperor?" Kunichiwa sighed and reached down into a secret compartment in the arm of his throne and produced five Golden Scrolls. "Take these scrolls and give them to the folk of the townships south of Brijo, perhaps they can help us find someone to rid us of this scourge." Portaku bowed and accepted the scrolls. For a moment he paused, deciding if he should tell his Emperor that the southern townships had already been overrun and that citizens were already fleeing north. He stares off into space before he focuses on you. He tells you: Through the ages Crimson and Rose have fought. These wars have been for the most part harmless. But Crimson created a plan to finally destroy the King of the Rose. With the aid of Graz'zt, a demon lord, the Crimson King laid waste to all of Rose's armies. As victory closed, Graz'zt destroyed Crimson's and Rose's minds as well as turning most of the land into waste and ruins. It was not until most of the damage was done when a weakness in Graz'zt was found. I exposed this weakness and was able to lock Graz'zt in a tower amidst the ruins, but the encounter has destroyed me and it takes all my sanity to tell you this. The tower can only hold him for so long. Already he is finding ways to exert his powers. He must be confronted and destroyed.
